This page outlines my Terms of Service.
It has 4 sections: General info, payment, adopts/customs & commissions.Rule breaking leads to strike/block/blacklist depending on severity. Blocked & blacklisted users can’t get services from me, but adopts/art already owned can be kept or rehomed as wished. Rehoming adopts to blacklisted users is not desired, but not against my TOS (may change in case of a public blacklist).Any questions, please contact me!-6 Apr '24 changes

⭐ — SECTION 1: GENERAL INFO

❗ 01. In this TOS, 'I', 'me', 'we', 'artist', 'seller'; refers to the service provider, Syrinq.
'You', 'customer', 'buyer', 'owner'; refers to anyone receiving premade art/commissions from me.
'3rd party'; refers to anyone else rehoming my premade works, usually adopts.02. Don’t use/edit/repost/mint/trace/copy my art, my characters, adopts & any works related to those.
Adopts & commissions are only for the customer’s use. Stuff like lineart bases, have separate usage rules.03. Any art/commission I may put in a portfolio or post to my socials. If you wish to remain anonymous, tell me.
Any sold works I won’t sell again, unless it’s back in my ownership.04. I only post my art/adopts to the socials on my Carrd.
If my work’s posted to a different username/site, contact me. Chances are it’s theft/scam.05. Any adopt with similarities to past designs by me or others, is unintentional.
If there’s a lot of overlap, contact me & I’ll see what I can do.06. I'll freely block anyone who's a piece of shit, eg. tracing or harassment. Then obviously, don't interact with me.

⭐ — SECTION 2: PAYMENT INFO

01. Payment is upfront through PayPal invoice in GBP, paid within 1 day of receiving. Failure cancels the purchase.
Do not send payment without an invoice. Funds outside invoices, are taken as donation.02. Invoices for my services have a digital goods statement & this TOS, by paying you agree to my terms. Purchases are final, with (partial) refunds only for commissions.03. Holds, split payments & payment plans are negotiable if I deem the amount appropriate.
Any other methods, eg. art trades, are agreed on separately.04. Once paid, your email’s saved in my contacts. Your details won’t be sold to or shared with 3rd parties.05. Full-size image(s) are emailed to the customer after finished transaction.
Once you get your copy, I delete mine. Any file loss afterwards is on the customer.06. If applicable for adopts, I'll transfer the ToyHouse profile. I request the profile isn't deleted, privating is fine.

⭐ — SECTION 3: USE OF ADOPTABLES & CUSTOMS

An adopt is a character concept designed by me, received through sale/trade/voucher/gift/raffle.
A custom is a commissioned design, catered to your ideas.01. The design will be in customer’s ownership, but I keep copyright & credit for the original creation.
Multiple people co-owning a design is allowed. Everyone involved has to agree to this TOS.
I never retract ownership of a design, despite issues/blacklist/etc.02. Design is for personal use only, eg. sona, cosplay, NSFW, etc. I can’t and won’t police what you do.
However, if clearly used to ‘promote/glorify’ harmful ideals from reality, I'll block you.03. Commercial use is not permitted, eg. selling merch. I may allow it upon discussion, during purchase or any time after. (Undecided on price) There’ll be a one-time fee per design for commercial use.04. The design, its original art & any related works, can’t be minted as NFT, nor fed to AI.
Reuploading the original art to your socials is fine, with credit.05. Unless specified, all my designs are one-offs, and can't be made into a (closed) species.
Giving them AU designs of existing closed species is fine (eg. Grem2).06. Design can change as much as desired. New palette, shapes, AU designs, etc.
Credit me as the original designer, credit to redesigners where applicable.07. Any additional versions (eg. alt. palette), stay linked to the original & must be rehomed together.
Exception is redesigns/AU designs with little similarity to the original, but this needs my approval.08. No major changes or signature removed from original art.
Minor edits are allowed (eg. colour edits, accessories). Edit can be used 'as normal' (eg. as avatar).
If original art was a sketch, it can be used as base for a polished reference, with credit. If unsure, ask.❗ 09. Design can always be sold for original price* or resale price*, regardless of acquisition.
If unknown, the worth is £0. ToyHouse adopt prices are in ownership logs.
*Original price is what I sold the design for
*Resale price is what a 3rd party sold the design for❗ 10. Reselling higher than original price, is only allowed with extra work.
Eg. original price £25, own art £40, commission £30; resale is £95. Be reasonable with valuing your own art.
You can optionally contact me with receipts to update worth on ToyHouse, ensuring future owners.❗ 11. Design can also be rehomed by trade/voucher/gift/raffle, regardless of acquisition.
These methods do not affect resale price, ‘artificially increasing’ worth is not permitted.
A voucher is a trade for goods & services (eg. art) someone else pays for you, in trade for the design.
The max. voucher amount is 30% above (re)sale price, eg. £130 voucher for a £100 design.
If unknown, the worth is £0 and can’t be vouchered.12. I don’t need notification of rehoming, only ensure new owner is aware of this TOS.
If acquiring a design from a 3rd party, ask them for files. I'm not responsible for refunds with faulty transactions. It's the customer's responsibility to ensure design/art isn't stolen. If unsure, ask.

⭐ — SECTION 4: USE OF COMMISSIONS

Commissions are art or designs you have ordered from me.01. Art will be in customer’s ownership, but I retain credit & rights. Customer may hold credit of the subject.02. Generally, orders are finished within 1 month. Any delays are communicated as soon as possible.03. Initial sketches are customer approved. Customs have palette approvals also.
Customer can ask for 2 full revisions in sketch phase; pose, perspective, etc. More adds to extra fees.
With custom designs, discarded concepts may be reused as adopts.
Reused concepts change where needed, to not share 1:1 similarity with the final custom.04. Minor changes can be requested after completion, to reasonable degree. Eg. fixing details, post-processing.
Additional fees count for significant amounts (like 3+).05. Commission is for personal use only, eg. avatar, DnD, etc. It can't be minted as NFT nor fed to AI.

(Near-)finished work is not compensated. I can refuse a commission for any reason.

Any adopts that sold on ToyHouse usually are with the current owner or privated.14. Where and how do you get inspiration for your art?
Literally fucking anything. Be it a trope or story beat in some media, crumb of food on the street, crusty .jpeg memes, some aesthetic moodboard, whatever. What helps most is the brain overdosing on tangents, baby!

It's essentially a matter of practice. Painful practice. Lots of practice.
I suggest looking up inspirational styles and tutorials (book/video/podcast/whatever floats your boat).
Practice depends on the style you're after- For example, studying still life & anatomy is good for realism.
Studying animations, manga 'n whatever is better for a stylistic approach.
